STURBRIDGE — Opening a new business is a risky venture in any economy, but one Sturbridge resident, believes there is no better time to open what she calls a tranquil retreat.

A lifelong resident of Sturbridge, and a Tantasqua Regional High School graduate, Jacquelyn Marinelli, 24, said choosing Sturbridge as the location for her new spa, Trusted Tranquility, 455 Main St., Suite 6, was the natural fit.

After graduating high school in 2004, Marinelli said she knew she wanted to get into the health field, but finding the right area of that field to fit into prove harder than she expected.

She first chose to follow in the footsteps of her father, Sturbridge Fire Captain and Fire Inspector John Marinelli, who she said has also been a trained EMT for more than 25 years.

Jacquelyn said once she received her EMT certification from Quinsigamond Community College, she decided to go on a ride-along with her father. She said the ride-along was an experience that changed her career outlook forever.

"I ended up thinking that wasn't for me, but I knew that I wanted to stay in the healthcare field," said Jacquelyn.
