HOLLAND — Most girls only dream of strutting down a fashion show runway, but that dream will become a reality for girls at the Holland Elementary School, which will host its fifth consecutive fashion show Saturday, Dec. 4.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a dinner for the girls, their families and the public, and the fashion show will commence at 7 p.m. Erin Lundgren-Scimeca, a Holland Elementary School alumna and current Director of Scouting and Special Events for New York Model Management, will help 54 students ranging from preschool to the sixth grade put together a professionally staged show.
New York Model Management is among the most prestigious modeling agencies in the country, so school officials are very excited about Lundgren-Scimeca's continued interest in the fashion show.
"The kids always love this event, and this will be the largest group we've ever had," said Charlotte Lundgren, a secretary at Holland Elementary School who has helped promote the show.
The girls will model various clothing articles borrowed from the Old Navy store in Sturbridge, and Lundgren-Scimeca plans to arrange each type of clothing in thematic scenes.
In total, the event will include seven scenes and a finale that display current fashion trends, one of which will be an "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" scene where all the girls will wear pajamas.
