WEBSTER — Jumping in on the fight against breast cancer once again is Harrington Health Care at Hubbard, and with this year's switch of venue, they hope to create a tighter, community feeling with their walk.

The Harrington Health Care at Hubbard Breast Cancer 5K Walk/Run will be held Sunday, Sept. 26, at Bartlett Jr./Sr. High School with the walk beginning at 10 a.m., on the track. The walk will happen rain or shine.

Marketing Manager for Harrington Health Care at Hubbard Blaine Schnare said she is happy to help with the walk again this year. She said people who have already signed up to take part in the walk are already looking forward to the day, which has been hosted by the hospital on and off over the past 10 years.

Schnare said over the years, the walk has been held in Webster on Thompson Road, but this years was moved to the Bartlett track, because the date coincided with the annual Danskin Triathlon.

Schnare said there are more than 75 people signed up for the event as individual walkers and teams. She said there are always more residents who show up that morning to participate.

"We moved because the dates of Danskin [Triathlon] were the same," said Schnare "[Moving it] was for the safety for all of the walkers."
