STURBRIDGE — Old Sturbridge village celebrated the Fourth of July with many festivities, from patriotic fashion shows to pie-eating contests. Kids came decked out in red white and blue, a prominent senator spoke of this great country and it all ended with a fantastic display of Fourth of July fireworks. State Sen. Stephen M. Brewer, a fixture at the annual Independence Day celebrations at Old Sturbridge Village, holds his hat to his chest as an 18th-century militia re-enactment troupe fires its muskets during July 4 festivities Sunday. Above, fireworks light up the sky, just above the trees, as a day of honoring the country comes to a close.
