Tentative search visits slated

June 15, 2010
SOUTHBRIDGE — The Southbridge Evening News has learned of tentative dates for superintendent site visits involved in the search process.

Today (Wednesday, June 16), school committee members are touring the high school to check on Principal William Bishop. On June 22, they visit both Tri-County Vocational Technical High School in Franklin and the Milford schools to look into Mark Wood and Barbara Cataldo, respectively. The following day, they plan to take the trip to Schenectady, N.Y., to follow up on Eric Ely.

At some point during the process, all four candidates are also slated to be interviewed by state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Commissioner Mitchell Chester, who will make a recommendation prior to the School Çommittee's slated vote on a new superintendent June 30.

That day is also when current officeholder Dale Hanley's contract officially runs out.
