Local teen accused of break-ins, vandalism
May 23, 2010
STURBRIDGE — A teenaged suspect was arrested Wednesday, May 19 in connection to nearly a dozen car break-ins, and police say there may be more charges to follow.
Tyler R. Snow, 17, was released on his own personal recognizance after being arraigned in Dudley District Court Wednesday on 11 counts of felony breaking and entering into a vehicle, malicious destruction of property in excess of $250, larceny over $250 and obstruction of justice.
Each count of breaking and entering can carry an up to 2 1/2-year jail sentence.
Snow's arrest came after a number of crimes had been committed during the night of May 16-17 in the neighborhood of Fairview Park Road and at the Publick House Historic Inn.
As of Friday, May 21, Sturbridge police were still investigating the breaks, trying to determine if Snow acted alone and if any additional charges may be applicable.
"It's still an active investigation so there could foreseeable could be additional charges and those additional charges may not just be on Mr. Snow," said Detective Mark Saloio.
