Notre Dame stages musical, "Oliver!"

SOUTHBRIDGE — "Oliver!" will be performed by the Notre Dame of the Sacred Heart Youth Group Saturday and Sunday April 23 and 24 at the Lasalle Reception Center. The musical is based on Charles Dickens' novel "Oliver Twist." Seen during last week's rehearsals, Tyler Tretheway, 17, of Southbridge runs lines with Josh Farland, of Sturbridge, Tyler will be playing Fagin and Josh will be playing Bill Sykes, top photo. Center, Troy Reed, 6, of Woodstock, Conn., sits perfectly still as he rehearses his lines. In the bottom photo, Joan Louise Matte, of Southbridge, and John Bundett, of Southbridge, rehearse with children performing in the upcoming play "Oliver!"

Performances are at 6:30 p.m. both days. Tickets are $10 per person, $8 for seniors and $6 per person for groups of 20 or more. Proceeds benefit Youth Group Scholarship program and youth activities.
