STURBRIDGE — With warm weather and sunshine finally upon us once again, the worker bees of the Sturbridge Trails Committee already have a full docket ahead of them with two events scheduled on consecutive April weekends.

On Saturday, April 10, Sturbridge Tree Warden, Trail Committee member and Army Corps of Engineers Ranger Thomas Chamberland will host a walkthrough of the trails at the Westville Lake Recreation Area off Wallace Road. The goal is to familiarize members of various town boards and committees with some trail-specific jargon that will most likely appear in the Trails Master Plan, which is a long-term outline for trail maintenance already underway and expected to be complete by the end of this year.

The following weekend, on Saturday, April 17, the Trails Committee, along with a number of other area trails committees, will conduct their first volunteer work day of the year.
