Suhoski is ready to take the reins

To assume Sturbridge TA duties on April 12

March 10, 2010
STURBRIDGE — With one month to the day left before he settles into his role as Sturbridge's new Town Administrator, Shaun Suhoski reflected on his past accomplishments as a civic leader — and how they will help him as Sturbridge's top executive.

Wrapping up his time Ayer, where he has been Town Administrator for three and a half years, and was director of community and economic development for approximately seven years before that, Suhoski's first official day in Sturbridge is scheduled for Monday, April 12 — the same day as the 2010 town election.

Already pleased with the caliber of professionalism he has been met with by town leaders and department heads, Suhoski said his primary goal during his first few days in town will be get better acquainted with his colleagues.

"I just need to get to know the players, and that will be goal number one," Suhoski said in a telephone interview Wednesday, March 9.

"I am looking forward in the next couple weeks to take a day or two off and come down there during the day," Suhoski said.

Before turning his attention completely to Sturbridge, Suhoski is committed to fulfilling his obligations in Ayer.

"I'm going to have our budget and the warrant for our town meeting put to bed before I head down there," he said.

When he does arrive though, Suhoski is confident he will be able to jump right into town business without skipping a beat.
