Suhoski offered Sturbridge TA position

February 24, 2010
STURBRIDGE — Selectmen Monday unanimously offered the town administrator job to Shaun A. Suhoski, of Gardner, despite learning of a startling revelation about his past.

The State Police arrested Suhoski on Christmas Eve in 2002 on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after the car he was driving struck the back of a tractor trailer truck on Route 2 in Westminster, he said during his interview with selectmen Monday.

The revelation came after Selectman Thomas R. Creamer queried Suhoski, 44, about it during the interview. Creamer did not specify how he learned this information.

The case was later dismissed, Suhoski told selectmen. Suhoski, now the Town Administrator in Ayer, had been working as its economic development director at the time of the incident.

"The prosecution wasn't able to proceed," Suhoski during a press interview after meeting with selectmen without specifying why the case did not move forward.
