Cimini leaves town EDC in Sturbridge
'We're spinning our wheels a little bit'
February 11, 2010
STURBRIDGE — Economic Development Chairman Michael Cimini issued his resignation Wednesday, saying there has been a current lull in tangible work.
An advisory committee to the Board of Selectmen, the EDC has spent the last few years researching ways of making Sturbridge a more viable business community and to better position the town to accommodate a controlled amount of future development.
With various long-range plans like the Commercial Tourist District Revitalization Plan and the Master Plan in the works, Cimini said the bulk of the EDC's work is done for a while. Looking for a change in his life, he decided it was time to move on.
In a letter to the editor of the Southbridge Evening News, Cimini thanked the members of the EDC for their dedication.
