CHARLTON — Scott Palmerino loves taking three-pointers.

Fittingly enough, the Bay Path senior and Southbridge resident took one of his patented threes on Feb. 2 in a game at Nashoba Tech in Framingham. The trey came as time expired in the third quarter, and it was the hoop that put Palmerino in the coveted 1,000-point club.

Palmerino relived the play after the Minutemen faced Blackstone Valley Tech on Senior Night on Feb. 5.

"My teammate A-Rod (Alex Rodriguez) gave me a lead pass going up the court," he began. "I saw the clock going down with five seconds left. With one second left I threw it up, and it went in."

Bay Path coach Mike Lavin has seen Palmerino develop as a player and person over the past four years, and he had nothing but special things to say.

"He's a fabulous player," Lavin said. "He does everything right. He's a good kid, a good leader."

Even opposing coaches enjoy watching Palmerino play.
