Charges filed vs Level 3 offender after alleged threat

CHARLTON — A Level 3 sex offender was charged with several serious crimes Wednesday after an incident with a 68-year-old man.
Jesse Richard Lee, 42, of 376 Worcester Road (Route 20), was charged with threatening to commit a crime (murder), threatening to commit a crime (destroying property), disturbing the peace and witness intimidation. He will be summonsed to Dudley District Court soon, according to Police Chief James A. Pervier. The chief did not identify the victim and had little other info on the incident. The dispatch logs list the incident involving Lee as occurring at 11:21 a.m.
"He damaged some property," the chief said, adding he had little other information.
Richard is registered a Level 3 offender on the state Sex Offender Registry Board. He was convicted in 1999 of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 years of age. Level 3 offenders have a high risk of committing another sex crime. No work address is listed in his name.
