Sturbridge TA search winding down
December 06, 2009
STURBRIDGE — For the second time in a few months, the Board of Selectmen is prepared to receive the three finalists selected in the search for Sturbridge's next town administrator.
The joint meeting between the Board of Selectmen and the Town Administrator Search Committee is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. today, Monday, Dec. 7 at the Senior Center.
The search committee has its own meeting scheduled for 6 p.m., just before meeting with selectmen, in order to take their final vote on the three final candidates.
"The three finalists will be voted on at that meeting, right before the selectmen's meeting," said Scott Garieri, the selectman representative on the search committee.
According to committee chairman James Ehrhard, a split decision on which candidates to present to the selectmen will not be made tonight, rather, the committee just opted to hold off on the vote, allowing members of the search committee to fully digest each candidate's resume before voting, and to keep all of the remaining candidate's names confidential until the committee meets with selectmen.
"We're very close," to settling on three candidates, Ehrhard said. "We just wanted to make sure we didn't have a final vote on it until right before the meeting."
