SOUTHBRIDGE — Even early risers might be surprised by the morning traffic this Saturday, as Southbridge hosts its fourth Town-wide Yard Sale.

As in previous years, about half of the sellers will have tables at the Common while the rest market their wares from their own homes. Last year, the total was around 100, and organizer Julie MacDonald expects a similar number this year.

At present, though, there's only about 80, but "I don't let it get to me," she said. "I get like 20 calls on Thursday. More and more people catch on every year."

From third-year participant Jonathan Vizard's perspective, the event is especially an opportunity to clear out outgrown children's stuff and find new stuff cheap.

"I didn't see any set patterns," he said. "[People] are just looking for bargains."
