CHARLTON — An all-terrain vehicle accident in Charlton Friday night resulted in the death of Dudley resident Robert T. Bazinet.

The 31-year-old Bazinet, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders, after his ATV struck a tree near 80 T Hall Road in Charlton.

According to Timothy Connelly, spokesman for Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early, the accident, which occurred shortly after 10 p.m. on Friday, happened just as police began to pursue Bazinet.

"They tried to pull him over and he didn't pull over," Connelly said. "When they asked him to stop and he didn't, they pursued him."
