LaMountain insists he does not own land

HOLLAND — So whose farm is it?
That seems to be the question surrounding Monday's arrest of outspoken Holland resident James P. LaMountain.
Per the order of the State Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), LaMountain was arrested by Massachusetts Environmental Police at the Mashapaug Road logging operation run by the LaMountain family.
The charges brought against LaMountain include, "Possession of protected birds and setting fire in an open space without a permit," according to Kate Plourd of the Mass Environmental Police.
"They arrested me saying I had control of the land," LaMountain said Tuesday, indicating his son Michael LaMountain owns the property along with Chad Brigham.
