A rush to judgment?
Panel examines appointment process
August 26, 2009
SOUTHBRIDGE — Since the June elections, residents have raised concerns about the process of appointing people to town boards and subcommittees.
Most recently, Michael Murray, a former School Committee candidate who put his name in for the Education and Human Services subcommittee, alleged that the process is one of "quick nomination and a rush to judgment" rather than real consideration of a candidate's skills or what he saw as the proper application process.
"My skill sets were replaced by relatives and friends," he said, speaking at the Town Council podium Monday.
