Rape case is continued

Accused has four active files in two years

August 19, 2009
Tuesday's probable cause hearing at Dudley District Court for a young Southbridge man charged with rape was postponed until October.

But such delays are nothing new to the accused, Jonathan Ferron, 19, of Coombs Street. The court has four active files on him from the last two years, but his attorney James Kaeding said he is free pending trial.

Kaeding, however, declined further comment, saying he has a policy of not talking about active cases. Ferron doesn't have a listed number, nor do his parents, and a telephone number in the court records for him is not in service.

His uncle, former Town Councilor Dale Ferron, said he has very rare contact with the youth.

"I only see him once or twice a year," he said. "He always had some kind of extra schooling outside the norm, but I don't know what his status really is."
