STURBRIDGE — What's better on a beautiful day than getting outside and moving your feet?

Local artist and writer Carol Goodrow is encouraging people to do just that with her latest publication, a 2010 wall calendar called, "What a Day for Running."

"What I'm really doing is trying to inspire people to get outside, whether it's running or walking," said Goodrow, a Sturbridge resident and Tolland, Conn., teacher specializing in work with dyslexic children.

An avid runner, Goodrow integrates themes of healthy living into her classroom lessons — which include Friday jogs — and her books, which include "Kids Running: Have Fun, Get Faster and Go Farther," "The Treasure of Health and Happiness," and "Happy Feet: Your Child's First Journal of Exercise and Healthy Eating."
