SOUTHBRIDGE — Katie Mrazik's flair for graphic design has found a literary outlet at the Jacob Edwards Library.

Mrazik, of Southbridge, recently turned her artistic gaze toward the teen area of the library, decorating it with paper shapes to make the area more attractive to patrons. The 17-year-old 2009 graduate of Southbridge High School spent 20 hours over two weeks recently cutting long rectangles and circles out of paper, and hanging them around the room.

"We just wanted to make it more appealing," she said in an interview surrounded by her work. "I think it works altogether to brighten up the area. I think it's pretty good."

While she calls the pattern "simple," creating the work of art is not as easy as it may appear.
