STURBRIDGE — With everyone from big business to the small homeowner feeling the pinch of the weakened economy, many communities across the commonwealth have had to scrap their annual Independence Day celebrations due to budgetary constraints.

If you are still looking for an old fashioned New England celebration, though, Old Sturbridge Village (OSV) has just such an event.

Following last year's wildly popular — and first ever — Fourth of July celebration at the Village, OSV personnel will try to recapture that same atmosphere, one which they hope will be even more successful the second time around.

Following the 2008 display, Chief Executive Officer of OSV Jim Donahue, said, "The fireworks were a much bigger success than we expected."
