Town Meeting headed for third session
Brimfield voters approve $7.8M fiscal year 2010 budget

BRIMFIELD — Nowhere is the democratic process more colorful than Brimfield.
Two hours into Tuesday night's continuation of the May 18 Annual Town Meeting, only two articles had been decided on due to points of order, clarifications, substitute motions and general confusion over the meeting process.
The 7 p.m. meeting was initially convened as a Special Town Meeting with a sole article that aimed to change the method in which the emergency services fee charged to flea market owner/operators is calculated.
Town Counsel Jonathan Silverstein explained the motion would prevent ongoing litigation brought against the town by an owner/operator from having to go to trial.
