SOUTHBRIDGE — Dozens of people turned out Monday to have their say in the first of what likely will be several public forums on the school building project.

Of them, several spoke in favor of building an entirely new school on a site off Torrey Road, all of them favoring a combined middle-high school.

Most folks tended to agree with Kara Donovan, who argued a new site would "bring pride back to Southbridge a lot of these existing schools are eyesores."

She added that the town has many positive things going for it, but "the only thing holding us back" is the schools' condition.

See Wednesday's Southbridge Evening News for complete coverage.
