STURBRIDGE — Bette Midler, the Beach Boys and Bobby Freeman all asked, "Do you wanna dance?"

They might not have found the answer they expected at last Friday night's junior high dance at the Sturbridge Federated Church.

With few students actually busting a move, the dance was actually a social gathering of sorts, with friends and classmates giggling, talking and playing games.

Some kids danced during the night, but adult chaperone Becky Wellwood recalled attending dances where at least one group of students danced.
