STURBRIDGE — Some unforeseen, yet planned for, changes in the Town Hall and Center Office renovations have required the first withdrawal from the project's contingency fund.
Prior to his final Town Meeting in Sturbridge, outgoing Town Administrator James Malloy explained that $427,586 of the approximately $5 million allocated to the refurbishment of the two historic municipal buildings was earmarked for additional expenses.
"We knew there would be a few things," Malloy said. "For projects like this you always have to have contingency."
The changes requested total $54,846.25.
