'Vote Yes' committee forms

Hoping to give Bay Path a push at the polls

September 17, 2012
CHARLTON — Less than a month before the Oct. 4 special election, several residents of the Southern Worcester County Vocational School District have come together to form the "Vote Yes for Bay Path" ballot question committee.

The formation comes on the heels of a recently established opposition group, the "Vote No to $73.8 million" ballot question committee, formed just before the school announced it would ask voters for a second time to approve its proposed expansion project at a special district-wide election.

According to the "Vote Yes" committee's treasurer, Robert Wilby, of Paxton, who is also the chairman of the SWCVSD school committee, members of the group joined together to push the passing of the renovation project because they see it as "the most reasonable approach to insuring that Bay Path will continue to function as a top-notch vocational high school for the coming 50 years."
