STURBRIDGE — Not one more child drowns.

That is the mission of the Christian E. Frechette Foundation for the Prevention of Childhood Drowning (CEF), which was established by Derek Frechette, of Sturbridge, after his four-year-old son Christian drowned at a town-run summer camp in 2007.

To help raise funds to support its cause, the foundation will hold the inaugural CEF Foundation Golf Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 15 at Pine Ridge Country Club in North Oxford. The format of the tournament, beginning with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m., will be a scramble with teams of four vying for the top honors and prizes. In addition, there will be an Italian-style dinner after the tournament with a silent auction and raffle prizes.
