Primary will decide 1st District House race

Although the final election isn't until November, Democratic and unenrolled voters will effectively elect the congressman for the newly rearranged 1st District on Primary Day Thursday, Sept. 6.

Then, 24-year incumbent Richard Neal faces off against challengers Andrea Nuciforo and Bill Shein for the Democratic nomination. There is nobody running on the Republican or Green ballots.

All of them agree a major part of the contest depends on how voters see the economy, but their individual approaches are quite different to the problem.
