STURBRIDGE — Running, cycling, and swimming are challenging enough on their own, never mind when you have to do all three in the same event.

Sixty participants were up to the challenge on Sunday, Aug. 19, many of whom finished the second annual Back of the Pack Productions triathlon in less than an hour. The event began with a swim across Cedar Lake to the Cedar Recreation Area, where athletes hopped on their bikes and began pedaling. The third leg of the triathlon was running, which is no easy task when you're already tired out from the first two components of the race.

"The event went very well, and we had a lot of really fast athletes who did an excellent job," said Jeff Zahr, the vice president of Sturbridge-based Back of the Pack Productions (BOTPP).
