SOUTHBRIDGE — To Fire Chief Mark DiFronzo, firefighting is one of the few jobs you can do that is both responsible yet appealing to the child inside.

"I think that's why I love doing my job," he said Tuesday. "I'm still doing the job I always wanted to do as a kid."

He was formally sworn in as Southbridge's seventh full-time fire chief at the Town Council meeting Monday, although he was officially hired last month.
