STURBRIDGE — Residents were treated to a special concert on Sunday, July 1, courtesy of the nationally acclaimed Joseph A. Ferko String Band. Dressed in dazzling costumes and carrying several instruments, members of the band stopped by the town center to celebrate Independence Day with guests. The band performed at the newly constructed Veterans Honor Roll memorial before marching down to the Town Common for a concert.

Pictured, it's not easy to be a member of the Ferko String Band on hot days like this one. Each of the costumes weighs about 40-50 pounds, not to mention the instruments.
